Colorado campers

Do any of you Colorado folks boondock? I'm looking for places that aren't too crowded along the Front Range. We don't need a lot of additional activities as we like to just hang out and read when the...

Thanks, everyone, for weighing in. I've had some generator issues with my current, clunky one so I am exploring options. It looks like I'll go with solar and get an inverter generator as a backup.

Wind generators

I'm thinking about getting a smallish one to recharge my battery while camping, either in campgrounds or boondocking. Most of the places we camp are in the national forest, so sometimes solar isn't a...

Thanks, N&K and Code2e. We're planning to get an inverter generator, so that might take care of the problem. My power center is unlabeled other than fuse size, and I'm using the correct size. I think...

I connect the units with the shore cord that came with the trailer; I've used it before without issue. The fuse in question is in the inverter panel where the breakers are. It's the bottom 15 amp...

Generator popping fuses

We don't take our 160 out but a few times a year and we augment the battery with a generator. It's not an inverter generator but we have used it several times with no issues. The first time we had it...

I'm happy to report the front, upper bunk in a 160 will support a 190-ish lb. person without breaking! The only problems I had up there were the thin mattress and little headroom. To be on the safe...

I have a Reese friction sway control bar and I use it every time I use my 160, even across town to dump my tanks. I have had no problems on winding mountain roads, campgrounds or even backing it into...

Bracing upper bunks

Has anyone added extra support bracing to front upper bunk in a 160? I'm thinking maybe 2x2 posts at the front corners that wouldn't affect sleepers in the lower bunk and running a 2x4 between them...

Thanks, runner421. It seems as though the plumbing is similar enough that I can follow your instructions, although mine is easier to get to. I was concerned about overfilling the tank, but your last...

X160 Fresh water fill

We have a 2009 x160 that is an upgrade from our old pop-up. The fresh water fill tube is essentially open to the world if the flap is open. Our pop-up's tank had a screw-on fill tube with a screw on...
