eBay search dual fuel carberator. Uses low pressure propane or lp gas. If it fits on your generator it's an easy conversation. I have 1 on my trailer & home emergency generators(mine are not inverter gens). Works great.

But what is the real benefit? Propane is not as energy dense as gas so runntimes would be less and you would need to haul more fuel with propane. I just don’t understand if there is a benefit

I bought a dual fuel generator for an off grid fishing cabin and my camper. So far i have only used propane. The main reason I run propane is that is doesn't go bad. I do not have to worry about gas going bad in the carb. I only use it a few time a year at the cabin for power tools and the A/C if it gets really hot. the carb has never seen gas. My cabin and camper have propane fridge, stove and heat. I have plenty of 20 lb tanks. they keep forever.

I run both on the RV. I have up graded to 30lb tanks. Carry limited gasoline. I have almost instant start and stop, no need to shut off fuel to run carb dry. Propane seems to ajust to altitude veration better. There is a little less power( maybe 5-10%) but you only see this at near max power(which is usualiy not needed). I guess convenience and fuel storage are best reasons. I do refill my tanks at home. By the way I added electric start to RV generator, which is another very convenient upgrade.
