Default pressure relief valve

Hello all,
We were out camping last weekend in our 08 FF 210 and while I was outside I notice a puddle under where our hot water heater is. I assumed it was leaking at the drain since I had recently took the plug out and drained and flushed the water heater as we had just purchsed the unit back in September and thought maybe I just didn't get the drain plug tight enough. But as I investigated further it is the pressure relief valve that is dripping. So now I am wondering if I should just replace the valve or do I need to take it in and see if there is someting wrong with the water heater. Any thoughts on the subject would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

This happened to me a few times.
Just purge the relief valve a couple times, sedement(rust) builds up at valve.
Its usually when the electric heaters just turned on when it hasent been used for some time.

I sometimes purge the valve after I set up ,and then I never have a problem.
I dont think you should replace it,just purge it every once in while when its under presure as preventive maintainance.

Default Water Heater

This is also common when the heater is full and there is not enough air in the top of the heater to accommodate the expansion of the water when it is being heated.

Check your H2O heater manual for further explanation and details.

Default pressure relief valve

Can anyone provide a picture or describe where the pressure relief valve is located? My hot water pressure is inconsistent / low. I am looking under the bed, at the hot water heater--it is covered in Styrofoam. Also, I was told to look for a "one way check relief valve". I don't see anything like what I'm looking for after looking up images on the web. Thanks!

I dont have a pic but you cant miss it.
From the outside open access panel toward the top of the heater you will see a valve with a small drip tray, the small lever is there to purge system

Here's a link to a picture of a 6 gal. unit. The pressure relief valve is the round valve located at the top left of the unit (view as seen from the outside of the RV through the access panel).

I too just purge mine as well once a month if using it. Stops mine from dripping too. Plus I was told its good to do that to keep the valve working and not freeze up.

Default low hot water pressure

Thanks everyone--you guys are great. I found the valve outside, and moved the lever up and down, but nothing comes out.

Having said that, I had just moved a lot of hot water through the water pump to see why my hot water pressure is inconsistent and low. While running the hot water through, the pressure was fine for a time, then it dwindled down. I'm not sure what else to check. I disconnected the hot water connection to the hot water tank, took out the nipple washer (no visible clogs) cleaned it, and put it back. (I had to apply plumber's tape after I got showered numerous times--seems the cheap plastic threads are hard to align in tight spaces!)

Any other ideas? Thanks.

Im assuming the inside bypass valves are open to the hot water tank.
when winterizing 2 valves must be shut and one open. When using water heater the one is shut and 2 are opened, maybee one is in the wrong position ?

Yes, here's a picture of my current layout. I see two valves open, and one closed. Thanks again for looking!

Default Check valve??

Looks like you have check valve at the top of your heater output (hot side). See here:

http://www.justanswer.com/rv-motorho...wood-tank.html

It is probably stuck or damaged. Shouldn't be an expensive repair or replacement.
