Trailer mount for BBQ.Does everyone utilize this , how safe is it attached to trailer? How reliable is the BBQ? 2012 XT 276 trailer:

We bought our 2008 FF used. It came with the bar-bque in a really nice bag. It was in terrible shape. Obviously no one had ever cleaned it after lots of use. It was dump material. We decided that it didn't seem safe to grill on the side of the trailer anyway. We bought s great Cusinart grill that has extendable legs that can be used on s picnic table or free standing. We have a hose that we can use to hook it up but we don't.

I have the grill. I've used it one time in the 7 years we've had the trailer. The performance was underwhelming. Took forever to cook 2 steaks. My guess is that it's designed with too few btus to cook in order to keep the heat down. It would probably be ok to cook a few hot dogs - as long as your not in a hurry.

My XT276 came from the factory with a grill to mount on the side of the trailer. And it came with a quick connect propane hose (hooks in under the front entry step) & a nice 'carry bag' to keep/store it in under the dinette seat.

The grill can be mounted on the rail beside the front entry door or it has fold out legs to be placed on a picnic table.....provided you acquire a longer propane hose.

We've use it on every venture both on the rail and/or on a picnic table w/extended propane hose. It works very well and does a wonderful job ... a great grill.

We actually prefer to use it on a picnic table more so than on the camper rail which is very close to the entry door as the grill gets quite hot and don't care to 'smoke up' the underside of the awning.

I guess mine is the "grill". It has two burners, that it. Attaches to the side anchor point. Mine has never been used. I just don't want to pack the thing around. Neither did the previous owners...so it sits in the attic of the house while we go have fun.

Our 2008 came with a camper mounted grill, but it was cumbersome in size and slow in performance. We got rid of it and removed mounting rack from camper. As far as safety, ours was mounted under the 13 foot awning, but I have seen new models of our camper where the awning was reduced in size so the grill is not located under it. This would seem safer. We have been using a portable grill with disposable cylinders, but plan to go to a small portable grill with a 10 foot hose that would sit on a table and still utilizes the gas connection on the camper.

If you are going to hook up a grill to camper connection, make sure you get one without a regulator.
