Default 2014 214WSD slideout question

Our 214WSD came with no information about the slide-out mechanism. I am used to the electric/mechanical slide-outs which have a simple manual over-ride if the power fails. So far I have not even located the operating mechanism, and have no idea how to get the slide-out back in in an emergency. Any suggestions welcome

Default slide out

Try looking under the slide out shelf inside for the mechanism. It should be mounted in the center of the slide near the track. On the side of it you should see a hex shaft about 1 inch long. Put a ratchet and socket head on it to wind the slider in or out.

I have been told that the slide-out has a Lippert mechanism (identifiable by the two slotted rails on each end of the slide-out), and that the actuating mechanism is inside the wall of the trailer and uses two synchronized motors. This sounds great while it works properly but must pose problems in case of any failure. It seems like this is the same type of mechanism in another post about slide-out problems.

Lots of links on the net about the system if you google it.
