I suppose you could mount the bottom basket a few inches above the sill of the closet door, so that you could stick your hand under that basket to retrieve the items on the floor of the closet. Or you could cut down or eliminate the sill, using a small oscillating saw, and install a flap in place of the sill, which would enable you to access the bottom of the closet from the front. Just be sure that if you choose that option, the structural integrity of the closet frame is not impaired.
