Default Cover for two burner drop in range top

The wife wanted a little more counter top by the sink when preparing food.

To solve the situation, I took a piece of 1/2" oak plywood (shop scrap) and cut it slightly larger than the range top with rounded corners. Then cut a 1" dowel (shop scrap) into 4 pieces 1 3/4" long for corner legs & screwed them to the bottom of the plywood. For $2.80, got a package of 1" round. self adhesive rubber pads for furniture legs and attached them to the bottom of the dowel 'legs' and stained the plywood and wood legs to match the cupboards. The stain was left over from another project.

Total cost: $2.80 plus a little time.

Now the wife had more counter space when the burners are not in use and the cover not only looks good (matches the cupboards) but is lightweight and stores easily when not in use.

As the saying goes:
"Happy wife = happy life"

DH did the same for me, plus he made a cover that completely covers both sinks so now I have double the prep space. As your saying quotes..."Happy wife = happy life!"
