Default Spare Tire

Hi everyone. I completely lost my spare tire. It was on the little attachment on the back of the trailer and at some point the whole darn thing fell off. I am getting ready to go camping in a week and don't want to head out without a spare tire, but am having a hard time finding one that I will get in time. I was thinking about going to picknpull to get a rim and just going to a tire shop to have a tire put on it. The tires on the trailer are ST205/75R14. My question is...will any 14 inch rim work?

Hey,

Yes any rim will work. No different that running a spare steel rim on your vehicle. The key will be to make sure you get the correct tire. Make sure to get a ST tire that is designed for RV/trailers. 6 or 8 ply tire. Not an radial tire like you would use on your car or truck.

Have a good trip!

If it's a car wheel, you need to make sure the bolt pattern, width and offset is the same as well.

Most farm and home stores etc. like Menards, Home Depot, Runnings, Lowes, TSC/Tractor Supply, Sams Club have, in stock, trailer wheels with ST tires mounted on them.
I've know people that buy one that fits their camper when they are going on a trip, toss it in the back of their TV as the 2nd spare. When they get home, if they haven't needed it, they return it to the store for a refund.
Yea, it kinda cheating the store but some people do it. No different than girls that buy a fancy dress for a night out, then return it the next day. Some even purchase the little plastic taggers so can reattach the original tags.

Having been employed in multiple occupations during my life and dealing with all kinds of people from the uneducated to PHD's, you would be surprised at what one hears ~ regardless of their level of income!
It is not unusual for some of the more affluent to be the cheapest.
