189FDS - Tongue Weight
Does anyone have a real world tongue weight for their 189FDS?
Thanks.

not precisely
mine is a 2010 with the heavier tongue weight. I approach 700lbs loaded up with the propane full, battery mounted and water tank(under the trailer in front of the axles) full. It's very heavy for a 4000lb (loaded) trailer.

Do you mean that the 2010 189FDS has a heavier tongue weight than that model in subsequent years? (mine (2014) is supposedly 425#).
Thanks.

you can exceed 500lb if you have water & all your stuff, I have an anti-sway system and beefed up hitch on the truck. I have calculated I am running about 600 fully loaded and it tracks straight as an arrow. Trailer frame can handle if you have sway system to reduce side to side stresses encountered w/o sway system

I have a 2013 Nissan Frontier - max hitch weight is supposed to be 600# with WDH. I have an equalizer brand hitch (10,000# rating), so it seems I'll be good to go with the new trailer?
Fun Finder dealer will set up the hitch for me.
(I worry too much about these things...)

you should be good as long as your within your trucks GVWR, even then you can exceed those some they have a pretty good safety allowance they will under publish GVWR. No doubt some will disagree, but that is the way it is done. but even loaded to the max your only talking about a potential of about 5500-6000 lb assumes all water and wastes tanks full which is not likely so deduct 900 lbs from that, gal of water 8.33lb/gal assume tans are all 36g

2010 vs 2014
In 2010 the tongue weight was listed as 425lbs. When the 2011's came out with the floor level slide, their tongue weight was list in the low 300's. It looks like they are back at 425 for a tongue weight. As indicated earlier, that doesn't take into account the battery, propane tanks, personal things or any water in the tanks.

I sent an email to CruiserRV asking why the difference in tongue weights on the two 189s (FBS and FDS). Here is their reply:

The 189FDS has a larger slide and is placed a little different over the axles than the 189FBS.
