Recently we made the drive to Yellowstone from Denver for a 10 day stay. Lots of RVs on the road at this time of year, so to pass the time and do something besides see sagebrush, we did a survey of RVs coming towards us on the road. The results were somewhat surprising to me at least. He is a breakdown of types of RVs out of a total of 364 rigs:
Class A Motor Homes-55 or 15%
Class B Motor Homes-4 or 1%
Class C Motor Homes-60 or 16%
Fifth Wheels- 89 or 24%
Travel Trailers-101 or 28%
Tent Trailers-31 or 9%
Truck Campers-24 or 7%
Biggest surprise to me was the large number of 5th Wheels. I know they are popular, but didnt realize they were this common. Anybody have any thoughts?
I saw mostly 5th wheelers on the way to the Sturgis SD bike rally and at the rally. There were lots of tent campers and lots of spendy motor home but mostly 5th wheelers.
