Yoly and I are leaving in 2 weeks in an attempt to avoid the freezing winter temperatures in north Georgia. We've booked a month at a very nice resort on the Gulf Coast and have a spot as close to the water as you can get there (still separated by a small Hwy). Here's a link to the resort ....
We'll be there until February 15th and then be heading around the corner south into central Florida for a week or so at Lake Griffith State Park. If there are any Fun Finders out there looking for some moderate temperatures then we should see if we can cross paths. If anyone needs more details, let us know.

I was going to head south in a few days (the last of my Holiday Guests just left this morning). Then STUPID CANCER reared its ugly head - I forgot I have an oncologist appointment on the 12th.
Hope to be on the road after that - maybe we will cross paths - look for a 189FDS with a goofy little white dog riding shotgun in a little red truck.
This is the introduction to the video series to follow that chronicles our first "snowbird" experience. There will be another dozen or so videos (already captured) from The Forgotten Coast of Florida and then this Sunday we are movng on to Manatee Springs State Park and then a week at Lake Griffith State Park, so there will be additional videos from those places as well
We have looked at the Carrabelle resort and plan to spend some time down there soon. Still have work travel getting in the way though. I can work from anywhere, but they occasionally want me to make a personal appearance for a customer. I keep telling myself "just a few more years"!

I gave then a very honest and critical review after our stay was over. I mentioned that the grounds were nice and well maintained and the staff very friendly. I also mentioned the great location. However, the internet was extremely unstable and would go out for 12 hours at a time. It would log you out and require "sign-in" about 6 times a day. The water pressure measured 30 psi at a maximum. The TV cable package was made up of low quality analog channels (lots of static and snow). These are all things I'm familiar with with most campgrounds but RVC Outdoors francise parks advertise themselves to be of a higher level than standard parks and they charge a premium for perceived amenities that don't exist. I did receive a nice response from a head honcho apologizing and saying that they had improved their internet so they asked if I would be willing to revist at a later date. I didn't reply as I have no interest in going back there.
