Looks pretty ritzy. I'm sure they wouldn't allow us on the property. Lol! How much per night?

Wow! We definitely wouldn't be welcomed as our ff is less than the minimum length! Looks nice, though

Maybe that's just on the grass sites? I've never heard of a MINIMUM length limit. But then, we usually go to cheaper places. lol

It is "ritzy" and has some strict rules we have not seen at other campgrounds.
Camper must be less than 10 years old, no stakes allowed in the grass, no tents, or canopies, etc. Plus the minimum length. You can send a picture of your camper if it is older than 10 years, and they will decide if it is "nice enough" to camp there.

We are going there just to relax for a weekend. Not busy this time of year, and not all facilities are open. It's a short drive from home, so we thought we would check it out and see if it would work for bringing our boat there for a summer weekend next year.

Hey no worries, if your travel trailer doesn't meet the minimum requirements they'll rent one to you!

No plans to camp there.....not for $50 a night.

If the campground has water/sewer/electricity fine ... cable TV is a plus always.

The special 'amenities' campgrounds have are of no interest to me at any campground.

We will go back in the summer. Very nice place, and very quiet this time of year. May have been about 12 other campers at the resort. Lot's of seasonal campers, but almost all were empty. I would not expect anyone from Kansas or North Dakota to make the trip, as I would not make the trip to either of those states for camping in a resort like this either.
The Wi-Fi was best we have had at any campground, bathrooms and showers were like new, as was the entire place. Rainy weekend, but we made the best of it with some shopping at local meat store, downtown Big Rapids and had a fantastic burger and fry's at Schuberg's. We were able to check out our new smart TV and stream movies and videos when we were at the camp. Fun weekend.

We will for sure bring our boat here for a weekend next summer. Great little marina, and the river has lot's of places to explore.

Yup. Pulls the camper anywhere we want to go. A couple 10 hour trips to Kentucky and Tennessee the GC worked well.

Really. Wife has a '15 Trailhawk w/6 cyl and 9 speed trans and think the tow rating is only 2,000 lbs.

The GC must have a higher tow rating. ?

Would not even think of another V6 for towing our camper. Nor that 9 speed.
We had a GMC Acadia with V6 and used it for one season. Sold that for the Jeep. The multi speed transmission "hunt's" for the correct gear way too much for my liking.

This is what we have.
2011 GC Laredo 5.7L Hemi
360 hp ; 390 lb-ft torque . 5,800 rpm redline
Class IV factory hitch, 7,200lbs. towing capacity.
We also tow our boat all over the state with the GC.

Have no intention of towing anything with it and never have.

The Ram 2500 4x4 w/6.4 Hemi does a great job for towing so no need.

Some of the seasonals' had some nice sites.

Our camper was one of the smallest one's there. We brought our dog with us, and my wife talked me into bringing the cat as well. The cat stayed inside the camper all weekend, and he did pretty good all during the trip.

The way I read that is the min length req is only for those specific sites.

I checked out a CG in Tucson that had an absolute min req of 24'. Their stated reason was that to make it all look consistent, all campers had to be parked with the front at the leading edge of the site. And because of that, your utilities would not be reachable since all the hookups are at the tail end of the site. I looked at the sites, and that was nonsense, all my hookups would have reached.
My guess is they want to keep us "poor folks down at the cheap end" of this hobby out. I have no desire to support a business with that attitude.
