So after feeling all the Florida heat pouring in through the shower skylight I decided to try painting the skylight with Plasti-Kote.
I sprayed about 4 coats of white Plasti-kote the top of the skylight from the roof. It cut the heat down tremendously and it still allows a lot of light to come through. Seems to be my solution. I can peel it off if I don't like it or if it gets scratched by trees. Also, seems like it will provide some level of protection.

The wife has been on my backside about this same problem for the last month. Trying to figure a way on how to keep the heat out of the bathroom.
Bingo, your post showed up. Will give your idea a try. Thanks Jerry

It will cool but a lot of heat comes in through the skylight. You can feel the difference as soon as you enter the bathroom area. Our A/Cs work hard in this climate. A 2'x2' window in the ceiling makes a huge difference in our comfort level.

I replaced the skylight with a vent. The cut out is the same size so it's a quick replacement. Now the bathroom stays cool and we get much better airflow. Not sure why they don't just come with vents.
