Default Who has used 'Flex Seal" on their roof?

Has anyone used 'Flex Seal' to seal along the edge of the roof, the roof vents, sky lights, etc on the roof of their camper?

Did you remove the Dicor sealant before application?

What were the results?

Did you use the paste from a can, from caulking tubes or the spray?

Provided it wouldn't crack like self leveling dicor - it would reduce the need for a maintenance chore every few years.

Flex Seal is just a brand name of latex caulking/sealing products AFAIK. I personally would never use a latex caulk of any brand on my trailer since it's almost impossible to remove and you can never reseal over the top of it since nothing will stick to it. I only use butyl caulk of which there are multiple good brands. Now if Flex seal makes a butyl caulk it might be worth a try.

I've used the tape on my older trailer and it was pure garbage.

Caulks are a little out of my wheelhouse but I think the comments about latex issues are more related to silicone caulks than latex.

I'm rebuilding my S&B here in the Keys where I have mostly used Vulkem 116 on the house. It's a slightly textured, single-component, moisture-curing, gun-grade polyurethane sealant. It's meant for poured and precast concrete, masonry work, window and door perimeters, and similar types of construction joints. It cures very slowly and is flexible enough for roof flashing. It's HVHZ* rated so it is wind resistant enough for highway speeds. I don't know how well or even if it works on our materials.

By the way (and this is completely off the subject), I painted the nubbly, formerly-black surface of the loading ramp with Lanco Ultra Siliconizer. That's a "styrene acrylic silicone modified roof coating 100% elastomeric and ultra-white." It stuck well to the rubbery coating and the white color makes the interior of the FunFinder a lot more pleasant.

Having the loading ramp ulta white in color doesn't seem logical as dirty foot prints and tire marks would be clearly evident.

I worried about that a little, especially since the nubbly, non-skid surface is sort of hard to clean. I painted it a few years ago and t hasn't been bad in real life. Mud rinses off and we're not pushing heavy vehicles up.

<shrug>

Eagle is probably right about tire marks for anyone who has to jockey a quad up the ramp.

A couple weeks ago I had a new roof installed. We chose FlexArmor (rvroof.com). Was way less expensive than a fabric roof, the guys in Pasco, Wa (Travelers Destination RV Repair) was the closet franchise near me (4 hr drive). Great people, good communication and when they found delamination under the old fabric they didn’t rape my wallet. Plywood repairs were fairly priced.
